1233 Queen East is a proposed 10-storey mixed-use rental building designed by Studio JCI for Core Development Group on the southeast corner of Leslie Street and Queen Street East in Toronto’s Leslieville neighbourhood. The project consists of 145 units, inclusive of both private/micro units and shared/co-living suites. The co-living model enhances the relative affordability of purpose-built rental market offerings by providing fully furnished, turnkey units with an all-in monthly rent rate that is materially below the cost of an equivalent traditional rental offering. The building structure consist of a hybrid concrete-and-steel structure, with cast-in-place concrete for 2nd floor below and parking levels and steel, composite decking, and a cold-formed steel (CFS) system for the remaining upper floors. The pre-construction phase of the project is complete, with remediation work ongoing, followed by building construction led by CCM.
